GETTING IT DONE FOR SENIORS

Senior tax relief must be expanded, but this hasn't be able to happen because of roadblocks created by the Board of Selectmen and Board of Finance.

I’d like to create a volunteer-based ride-share program that would enable aides and healthcare workers to visit seniors living in neighborhoods without public transportation.

GETTING IT DONE FOR OUR STUDENTS

I will work with our Board of Education to incorporate Civics and Community Service into our elementary school curriculum and to ensure equity between the schools – for instance, by expanding Ludlowe’s internship program to Warde High School.

In addition, I would like to get all of Fairfield students involved in a single, town-wide community service project for students and families to participate in.

GETTING IT DONE FOR THE ARTS

The arts build culture and create bridges that unify a community.

I would like to re-establish the Arts Council/Commission to promote all aspects of artistic expression, encourage an atmosphere of creativity and appreciation and thereby producing a quantifiable, positive impact on the health of our entire community.

GETTING IT DONE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

Fairfield is a leader in sustainability and I will strengthen our commitment to a greener CT by actively supporting and coordinating with the conservation efforts of the Audubon Society, our Conservation Department and the Aspetuck Land Trust.

GETTING IT DONE FOR THE DIVERSE VOICES IN FAIRFIELD

Fairfield is a multi-dimensional community and we celebrate the diversity here.  I would like to establish a Human Rights Council, an organized forum to have these sometimes difficult conversations on issues of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs and political beliefs.

This Council would help us expand our understanding of one another, bring people closer together and strengthen our community.
